WebsterRogers Participates in United Way’s Day of Caring

WebsterRogers Accounting Tax Firm South Carolina Nonprofit Volunteer United Way Florence County Day of Caring

WebsterRogers and WebsterRogers Financial Advisor team members were excited to participate in United Way of Florence County’s (UWFC) 31st Annual Day of Caring on Friday, September 16, 2022.

The Day of Caring event brings hundreds of individuals, groups, and businesses together to support the Florence community by completing projects such as painting, landscaping, cleaning, and renovating for partner agencies.  Monica Perry, Zack Morgan, Gordon Lewallen, Danielle Cannon, Alison Swaggard, Julianna Barfield, Lindsay Floyd, and Dresden Lamb spent the morning and early afternoon refreshing the interior paint of a local agency.

This year, 26 businesses participated to complete approximately 60 projects for Florence County nonprofit organizations.  UWFC President Cameron Packett recently announced an upcoming transition for the organization from the standard community chest business model to collective impact. “We’ll become more strategic about our community investments – focusing on the most pressing issues in the areas of education, health, and financial stability. In addition to funding key programs, we’ll also take on collaborative community projects and develop our own initiatives to provide direct services where gaps exist”, Packett states.  Visit the United Way of Florence County website to learn more about what the organization is doing in Florence and neighboring communities.

Florence County nonprofits benefitting from the UWFC Day of Caring include Boy Scouts of America, Boys & Girls Club of the Pee Dee Area, CARE House of the Pee Dee, Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas, Chrysalis Center of Circle Park Women’s Residential Center, Durant Children’s Center, Florence Area Literacy Council, Florence Composite Squadron, Foster Care Clothing Closet, Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, Lighthouse Ministries, Pee Dee Coalition against Domestic and Sexual Assault, Pee Dee Speech & Hearing Center, Senior Citizens Association, Tenacious Grace, The Naomi Project, The Salvation Army, Youth Mentors of the Pee Dee and the United Way of Florence County.

WebsterRogers commitment to the communities where we work and live has been an integral part of their values since it was founded in 1984.  The WebsterRogers Foundation was established in 2012 with a $10,000 annual pledge from its partners, and often makes contributions to nonprofits across the state.  Employees are also encouraged to make contributions through donations, payroll deductions and/or volunteer opportunities, such as the UWFC Day of Caring.  For a list of local businesses that the WR Foundation supports, visit our Community Involvement page.
